deburring
Picanol (BE)
Picanol was looking for a more efficient way to deburr the main crossbar of their weaving machines. What used to be done manually with a grinding wheel is now done automatically thanks to a custom-made robot from CNC Solutions.
Fast, precise and flexible
The main crossbars are milled and have a lot of milling burrs. With the arrival of the deburring robot, this is now done fully automatically, freeing up time for the operator.
The advantages of the robot were quickly apparent: ‘The robot works quickly, accurately and ensures that the quality of the deburring remains consistent. What's more, we can have different types of parts processed together without any set-up time,’ says Henk Ryckeghem, Project Coordinator at Picanol.
Seamless integration
Another important advantage? The robot's CNC control. ‘We can program the robot in the same way as our milling machines. This ensures smooth integration into our existing processes.’ New for Picanol is the use of the CAM software ENCY. ‘We can program the parts offline in advance and simulate them in ENCY,’ explains Henk.
Efficient and reliable
The collaboration with CNC Solutions went very smoothly. ‘They went to great lengths to develop this customised solution. We were able to clearly formulate our ideas and needs, and they always came up with a suitable answer. The result is an efficient, reliable and perfectly integrated deburring robot.’
‘CNC Solutions offered us a solution with a robot that was fully tailored to our needs.’- Henk Ryckeghem, Project Coordinator Picanol
